The former section castle was first mentioned in a document in 1254; from 1327 it was owned by the sovereign. From the end of the 16th century it changed hands, since 1750 it has been in ruins.

Until it was demolished in 2012, the inn was largely in the shape of 1600; the core of the building was partly older. The Gasthof Zum Alten Brauhaus on the site is a new building.
