1881–1890, the Catholic Orphan Aid Association from Vienna built the Norbertinum as a boys and orphans asylum based on plans by architect Richard Jordan. Until 1938 it was under the direction of the school brothers. The agricultural college has been located there since 1947. From 2010 to 2013 it was converted into a school center (technical school, upper secondary school - both with a focus on horse management). The Vienna Woods Biosphere Reserve Center has also been located here since then.

The single nave, late Gothic church was rebuilt after a fire in 1509. On September 26, 1529, the Turks destroyed the monastery with the church.
