The neo-Gothic building from 1906 has a triangular closure and a roof turret with a pointed gable helmet. Inside is a pointed barrel with ornamental ceiling painting from the late period. The shrine altar with a picture of Mary is neo-Gothic, the baroque lecture cross comes from the 2nd half of the 18th century.

Finds of ceramic disks indicate a settlement of the Buchberg high plateau from the late Neolithic to the Celtic period. According to excavations, it is believed that the largest prehistoric ramparts in the Vienna Woods were located here, around 350 to 400 meters long and 150 meters wide. The area of ​​the hilltop settlement extends over areas of the communities Maria-Anzbach and Neulengbach.

Originally at the end of the 12th century by the Lords of Lengenbach as a hilltop castle on a detached and approx. 80 m high mountain cone built above the settlement. Around 1500 the outer defensive wall, which is around 540 m long and reinforced with eight towers, was built. The former castle , first mentioned in 1074, was converted into a castle in 1565 in the possession of Count Trauttmansdorff , destroyed by Turkish troops in 1683 and then rebuilt with minor changes. The two-storey complex with an almost square floor plan has four round corner towers with sheet metal tent roofs and residential buildings with hipped roofs . A stone bridge built on four pillars with vases and lions leads over a ditch through a round arched portal into the interior.

The late 13th or early 14th century is likely to be the time when the former moated castle was built . Only the four round corner towers, which were once connected by walls, are preserved, in a ruinous condition. An engraving made by Georg Matthäus Vischer in 1672 shows that there was a three-axis Renaissance residential building with a hipped roof in the middle of the area .
