David Fumanelli (2014)

David Fumanelli (born April 21, 1992 in Milan ) is an Italian racing driver . He competed in the GP3 series in 2012 and 2013 .

Career

Fumanelli began his motorsport career in formula racing in 2008 . For RP Motorsport he started in the Italian Formula Renault and finished 25th in the drivers' championship. He also took part in two racing weekends in the Spanish Formula 3 championship . In 2009 he entered the entire season in this championship, which was now called the European F3 Open . Fumanelli remained without points in the first half of the season. In the second half of the season he managed to improve and only did not get into the points in two races. In addition, he won two races. While his team-mate Stefano Bizzarri was third overall, Fumanelli achieved eighth place in the drivers' championship. In addition, he started two events of the Italian Formula 3 championship and remained there without points.

In 2010 Fumanelli stayed with RP Motorsport in the European F3 Open. He won three races and ended the season tied with second-placed Callum MacLeod on the third championship course. Within the team, he prevailed against all teammates. He also took part in an Italian Formula 3 event for RP Motorsport. In 2011 Fumanelli played his third full season in the European F3 Open. With four wins, Fumanelli was the driver who had won most of the races this year. In the overall standings, however, he had to admit defeat to Alex Fontana with 115 to 120 points . As in previous years, he started at an Italian Formula 3 event.

In 2012 Fumanelli competed in the GP3 series for MW Arden . He achieved third place as the best result. In contrast to his teammates Mitch Evans and Matias Laine , Fumanelli remained without a win. While Evans won the championship title, Fumanelli was eleventh in the drivers' championship. For the 2013 season, Fumanelli moved to Trident within the GP3 series . He achieved his only point placement with a seventh place at the season opener. He was no longer used on the last race weekend. While his teammate Giovanni Venturini won a race and finished 15th, Fumanelli was 19th in the drivers' standings.
