Callum MacLeod

Callum MacLeod (born January 20, 1988 in Gloucester , England ) is a British racing driver . He competed in the GP3 series in 2011 .

Career

MacLeod began his motorsport career in karting in 1996 , where he was active until 2003. In 2005 he switched to the single-seater racing and competed in the British Formula BMW . He finished his debut season in 23rd place overall. In 2006 he finished seventh in the Formula Ford Clumans Cup . In 2007 he competed in the British Formula Ford. He won 14 out of 24 races and made it onto the podium 20 times. He clearly won the championship title. In 2008 he switched to the British Formula 3 championship . Starting for two different teams, he finished 14th in the national class. He also took part in two races of the British Porsche Carrera Cup .

In 2009 MacLeod moved to Team West-Tec in the European F3 Open . With a third place as the best result, he finished ninth in the overall standings at the end of the season. He also won the Copa ranking. In 2010 he stayed in the European F3 Open and played his second season for the West-Tec team. The Briton won three races and was on the podium eight times. After skipping the last race weekend, he was runner-up behind Marco Barba with 112 to 154 points .

In 2011 MacLeod was initially without a cockpit. At the fifth race weekend he finally entered the GP3 series for Carlin . At the end of the season he was in 23rd place in the drivers' championship.
