Mathéo Tuscher

Mathéo Tuscher (born December 12, 1996 in Noville VD ) is a former French - Swiss racing driver . He started partly with a Czech racing license. In 2014 and 2015 he competed in the GP3 series .

Career

Tuscher began his motorsport career at the age of three in karting , in which he was active until 2010. Among other things, he won the Swiss KF3 kart championship in 2009 .

At the beginning of 2011, Tuscher made his first experiences in formula racing . He tested a Formula 3 car under the supervision of Luca Baldisserri , who heads the Scuderia Ferrari driver development program . Tuscher made his first racing entries in formula racing in 2011 in the Formula Pilota China Series . He started in this series with a Czech license and under the Czech flag. Since he was 14 years old at the time, the Asian series was one of the few opportunities to compete in formula racing at that age. Tuscher won eight of twelve races and dominated the championship. In the winter of 2011/2012 he took part in Formula 2 test drives under the French flag and then in test drives in the GP3 series under the Swiss flag . He was within the first ten. Tuscher finally received a cockpit in the FIA ​​Formula 2 championship for the 2012 season , in which he started under the Swiss flag. At the age of 15, he was the youngest Formula 2 driver at the time. He already achieved pole position in his first qualifying . On the second race weekend he finished both races in second and achieved his first podium positions. Tuscher won two races and was second in the drivers' standings behind Luciano Bacheta with 210 to 231.5 points . Tuscher was the best newcomer in the 2012 season.

In 2013 , after Formula 2 was discontinued, Tuscher was without a fixed cockpit. He only took part in one Formula Renault 3.5 event for Zeta Corse . In 2014 Tuscher started for Jenzer Motorsport in the GP3 series . In the first sprint race in Barcelona , he managed the only podium finish of the season in second. He finished the season in twelfth place overall. In 2014 Tuscher also took part in an Alpine Formula Renault event. In 2015 Tuscher completed his second GP3 season for Jenzer. He reached the 13th place overall. In addition, Tuscher competed in two races of the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) for Rebellion Racing .

After Tuscher's contract with Rebellion was not extended at the end of the 2016 season, Tuscher is currently without a cockpit for the 2017 season.
