Gianluca Baldisserri (* 11. December 1962 in Bologna ) is an Italian engineer , motor sports official and chief race engineer for bogies of Ferrari - Formula 1 teams Scuderia Ferrari .

Luca Baldisserri started at Ferrari in February 1989 in the electronics sector, developing the software for the automatic transmission. In 1999 he was Eddie Irvine's race engineer and together with his driver he achieved the vice world title in a Ferrari F399 .

After Ross Brawn's decision to leave the Ferrari team at the end of the 2006 Formula 1 season , Baldisserri was appointed Chief Engineer and Deputy Technical Director by Ferrari President Luca Cordero di Montezemolo to temporarily replace Ross Brawn because it was believed Brawn would return after the 2007 season. However, this was not the case and Luca Baldisserri held this position until the end of 2009 . Since 2010 he has been the manager of the Ferrari Driver Academy .

On October 22, 2002, Luca Baldisserri was awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic .
