Alexandre Imperatori (born April 19, 1987 in Châtel-Saint-Denis ) is a Swiss - German racing driver . He starts with a Swiss license. In 2011 he competed in Formula Nippon .

Career

Imperatori began his motorsport career in karting in 1991 and was active in this sport until 2002. In 2004 he moved into the single-seater racing and was the 14th Formula Lista junior . He also took part in four races of the Asian Formula Renault Challenge as a guest starter and won one race. After he was not active in any racing series in 2005, he returned to the Asian Formula Renault Challenge in 2006 and was runner-up behind Pekka Saarinen with one win . He also became champion in the Chinese Formula Renault Challenge classification. In 2007 he stayed in the Asian Formula Renault Challenge and won another race. In the championship the Swiss lost again to Saarinen and became runner-up. He also completed test drives for the Swiss A1 team .

In 2008 Imperatori switched to the Japanese Formula 3 Championship , where he competed for PTRS in the national class. Behind Hideki Yamauchi he finished second in this classification. In 2009 he stayed in the national class and started for Achievement by KCMG . The Swiss came third this time. In 2010 Imperatori rose to the championship class and started for Toda Racing . With a second place as the best result, he ended the season in fifth place overall.

In 2011 , Imperatori switched to Formula Nippon and returned to KCMG. He finished the season in twelfth place in the championship. He was also sixth in the GT300 Super GT classification . In addition, he won the GTC classification in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup in Zhuhai together with Edoardo Mortara and Darryl O'Young .
