Hideki Yamauchi

Hideki Yamauchi ( Japanese 山 内 英 輝 , Yamauchi Hideki ; born October 24, 1988 ) is a Japanese racing car driver .

Career

Yamauchi began his motorsport career in karting . In 2005 he switched to the single-seater racing and competed in the Formula Toyota , which he completed in his debut season in eighth place. In 2007 he competed in the Japanese Formula Challenge . He decided a race for himself and finished the season in seventh place in the overall standings.

In 2008 Yamauchi switched to the Japanese Formula 3 Championship and competed in the national class. He achieved eight wins in this ranking and won it with 121 to 96 points ahead of Alexandre Imperatori . His best overall ranking in the championship was a sixth place. He also made his debut in GT racing and competed in two races in the GT300 class of the Super GT . In 2009 he took part in four Super GT races and was 16th in the GT300 classification. 2010 Yamauchi returned to the Japanese Formula 3 Championship and completed the second half of the season for Hanashima Racing. He won a race and was sixth in the championship at the end of the season. He also took part in a Super GT race and the Macau Grand Prix . In 2011, Yamauchi stayed with Hanashima Racing in the Japanese Formula 3. He won three races and came third in the championship. He also competed in some Super GT races and took part in a racing weekend for the FIA Formula 3 Trophy .
