Robert Vişoiu (born February 10, 1996 in Piteşti ) is a Romanian racing driver . In 2017 he has been driving for Campos Racing in the FIA Formula 2 championship since the race weekend in Monaco .

Vişoiu began his motorsport career in 2003 in karting , in which he was active until 2010. He came second in the Southeast European KF3 Championship in 2009 and second in the KF3 WSK World Series and the KF3 WSK Master Series in 2010 . In 2011 Vişoiu switched to formula racing . He competed for Jenzer Motorsport in Formula Abarth . Vişoiu won two races and was sixth in the Italian standings, which his team-mate Patric Niederhauser won. In the European standings he was also beaten by Niederhauser, who was runner-up, and finished the season fourth. In addition, he competed in four races in the Formula Pilota China Series and was on the podium twice. At the end of the year Vişoiu took part in GP3 test drives for Jenzer. He achieved a top 3 time.

In 2012 Vişoiu competed for Jenzer Motorsport in the GP3 series as well as for Team Ghinzani in the Italian Formula 3 championship . In the GP3 series, he already achieved a podium finish with a second place in the second race. At the end of the season he was 14th in the drivers' championship. In the Italian Formula 3 Vişoiu did not contest all races. At the end of the season he was ninth in the drivers' standings with a win. In 2013 Vişoiu stayed in the GP3 series and moved to MW Arden . He won the sprint races in Valencia and Mogyoród . While his teammate Daniil Kwjat won the championship, Vişoiu finished the season in eleventh place overall. He also competed in the Auto GP for Ghinzani in 2013 . There he achieved eighth place in the drivers' standings with two third places as the best results. In 2014 Visoiu started again for Arden. With a third place as the best result, he was the worst Arden driver and 13th in the overall ranking.

In 2015 Vişoiu switched to Rapax in the GP2 series . He skipped the last two events due to injury. While his teammate Sergei Sirotkin was third overall with 139 points, Vişoiu was 17th in the drivers' standings with 20 points.

In 2017 , Vişoiu will replace Stefano Coletti at Campos Racing, who is paused for family reasons, in the FIA Formula 2 Championship from the race weekend in Monaco .
