Tim Zimmermann
Tim Zimmermann (born September 6, 1996 in Memmingen ) is a German racing driver . In 2020 he will start in the ADAC GT Masters .
Career
Zimmermann began his motorsport career in karting in 2007 and was active in this sport until 2013. Zimmermann took part in European karting and world championships. In 2012 he was runner-up and best newcomer in the ADAC Kart Masters as well as second in the KF2 Euro Winter Cup.
In 2014 Zimmermann switched to formula racing and competed for Neuhauser Racing in the ADAC Formula Masters . He only failed to score once, achieved ten podium placements and scored his first victory on the Slovakiaring . As the best newcomer, he finished the season in third place overall. With his team mate Mikkel Jensen , who won the drivers' championship, he won the team championship for Neuhauser Racing. In 2015 Zimmermann stayed with Neuhauser Racing and received a cockpit in the German Formula 4 championship , the successor series to the ADAC Formula Masters. Two second places were his best results. As the best driver of his team, he achieved sixth place overall. He also drove at an event for the Prema Powerteam in the 2015 Italian Formula 4 Championship .
In 2016 Zimmermann switched to ADAC TCR Germany and thus from formula racing to touring car racing. With the Liqui Moly Team Engstler he came on the podium three times with his Golf GTI TCR and finished eighth in the final round. This year Zimmermann also started in the 24-hour race on the Nordschleife . In 2017 Tim Zimmermann switched to the Target Competition team and finished 15th in the overall standings in an Audi RS 3 LMS .
Tim Zimmermann has been part of the Black Falcon team in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany since 2018 . In his first season, the Langenargener was third in the rookie classification and came in sixth overall. He celebrated his greatest success with a third place at the Sachsenring . At the same time, Zimmermann and Australian Timothy Macrow competed in the FRD LMP3 series in China on a LeMans prototype. The two drivers came on the podium regularly and finished fourth in the overall standings. In 2019 Tim Zimmermann started his second season in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany and finished twelfth overall. He also made a few guest starts in the China Endurance Championship and finished all races on the podium.
In 2020 Tim Zimmermann will switch to GT Sport. Together with the Grasser Racing Team and his Dutch team-mate Steijn Schothorst , he competes in a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 in the ADAC GT Masters .

Tim Zimmermann was a sponsored pilot of the ADAC Sports Foundation and was also sponsored by the Deutsche Post Speed Academy .
Zimmermann has to fund his racing career at the age of 16 years independently made. Among other things, Tim Zimmermann KG operated the internet streaming portal tim-tv. Zimmermann also organizes events. Zimmermann completed his training as a marketing communications clerk in 2015 and has been managing director of Tim Zimmermann GmbH & Co. KG ever since. Tim Zimmermann has been active as a coach since 2018 and has developed his own coaching programs for athletes.
In 2013 Tim Zimmermann was part of a bet on the television show Wetten, dass ..? .
