Aurélien Panis

Aurélien Panis (born October 29, 1994 in Saint-Martin-d'Hères ) is a French racing driver . He competed in Formula Renault 3.5 in 2015 and 2016 . His father is the racing car driver Olivier Panis .

Career

Panis began his motorsport career in karting , in which he remained active until 2010. In 2011 he switched to the single-seater racing and entered the four-championship Formula French at. He finished third twice and finished the season in tenth place overall. In 2012 Panis switched to RC Formula in the Alpine Formula Renault , which he finished in 17th place in the drivers' championship. He also made six guest starts for the racing team in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup . In 2013 Panis initially stayed with RC Motorsport and competed in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and the Northern European Formula Renault . At the end of June he ended his engagement with the racing team. In the second half of the year he competed for the Prema Powerteam in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and reached 18th place overall. In 2014 Panis switched to the ART Junior Team in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup . With one win he finished eighth in the overall standings. In addition, he completed seven races in the Northern European Formula Renault for ART, where he also managed to win.

In 2015 Panis received a cockpit in the Formula Renault 3.5 at Tech 1 Racing . He finished the season in twelfth place overall. In 2016 , Formula Renault 3.5 was renamed Formula V8 3.5 and Panis switched to Arden Motorsport within the series . He won in Alcañiz and Spielberg . In the championship he improved to fifth place in the overall classification. Internally he was defeated by Yegor Orudschew with 183 to 197 points. He also took part in some races of the French Touring Car Championship.
