Le Mans Series 2011

  • The 2011 Le Mans Series season will be the eighth season of the Le Mans Series organized by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest . As in the previous year, it is expected to consist of five races; the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup will also be represented at the races in Spa , Imola and Silverstone . The races will be held from April 3rd, 2011 to September 25th. Another race of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup will be held on November 12th in Zhuhai, China . All races are held as 6-hour races, and the racing classes from the previous season are no longer applicable, the LMP1 is now called LMPE and the LMP2 is now LMPC, the GT1 is no longer available, but the GT2 class is now GTE-Pro and GTE -Am class divided. The GTE-Pro is driven by factory drivers, the GTE-Am class exclusively by private drivers.

Racing calendar

There will be some changes again in the racing calendar, for example the race at Hungaroring in Hungary has been dropped from the calendar, but the Imola circuit has been re-included in the racing calendar. The race in Portugal is also changing, but here the only move is from Portimão to Estoril .
