Choice of drivers

The choice of drivers was left to the teams. At the beginning of 2014, Formula E also published a list of 29 drivers who were interested in getting involved in Formula E, the so-called Drivers' Club . All drivers in the Drivers' Club were given the opportunity to take part in Formula E test drives.

Selection of teams

The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) announced starting places for ten teams. The organizers of the series decided which teams were allowed. Team Rosberg was one of the racing teams whose application was unsuccessful .

On June 18, 2014, the British team Drayson Racing was replaced by the Italian team Trulli . Trulli announced that Drayson is acting as the team's technical partner.

Racing calendar

In 2014/15 eleven races were held in ten cities and nine countries. All races were held on temporary racetracks. There were nine street courses and one airfield course . Originally, Rome was also presented as the venue for a Formula E race in the 2014/15 season. A race that was also planned in Hong Kong was not included in the calendar due to problems with the planned route.

In April 2014, the race planned for November 15, 2014 in Rio de Janeiro was canceled, and a replacement should take place on February 14, 2015 in another, not yet named country. The race in Long Beach scheduled for this date has been postponed to April 4, 2015.

The FIA World Council confirmed the calendar on June 26, 2014.

In July 2014 there was another postponement, the race in Putrajaya was changed from the originally planned date on October 18th to November 22nd at the request of the Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak , who was unable to attend on October 18th due to another appointment postponed. The FIA complied with the request and confirmed the postponement on July 30, 2014.

At the beginning of September 2014, a few days before the first race of the season, a cancellation of the replacement race for Rio de Janeiro was officially considered for the first time, as no city could be presented as an organizer for this date. The search for a new venue was limited to the American continent, as the organizers considered a trip to another continent between the races in Buenos Aires and Miami as nonsensical. On September 17, 2014, Alejandro Agag said in an interview that there would be no tenth venue. Instead, consideration is being given to making one of the last three races a double event with two runs. Shortly afterwards, the tenth race disappeared from the official racing calendar.

On February 3, 2015 it was announced that the racing calendar would be replenished to ten venues with a race in Moscow on June 6, 2015. As part of this, the Berlin ePrix was brought forward by one week to May 23, 2015.

On February 19, 2015 it was announced that a second race at the season finale in London will take place on June 28, 2015.
