Trulli Formula E Team

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Trulli Formula E Team was an Italian motorsport team founded by Jarno Trulli to take part in the FIA Formula E Championship . Trulli took the place of Drayson Racing on June 18, 2014 , making it the last of the ten teams to be introduced as participants in the new racing series. After the team had not started for the first two ePrix of the second season , it announced on December 15, 2015 that it would be leaving the FIA Formula E Championship with immediate effect.

history

After Jarno Trulli had tested the Spark-Renault SRT_01E , the standard car of the first season of the FIA Formula E Championship, in March 2014 , he announced around four months before the start of the season that he would be the driver and team boss in personal union with his own team under the To compete in the name of TrulliGP . The team took the place of Drayson Racing, with Drayson enrolled as the team's technical partner. Although the team entered the entry list with an Italian license under the name Trulli Formula E Team , Formula E stated Switzerland as the team headquarters . The races were looked after by Super Nova Racing .

In addition to Trulli, Michela Cerruti was named as the driver at the start of the season . After the fourth race in Buenos Aires she was replaced by Vitantonio Liuzzi , who was represented by Alex Fontana at the season finale in London because of a scheduling conflict . The team finished the first season with only two top 10 results in tenth place overall. Only at the Berlin ePrix was Trulli able to draw attention to himself with the pole position.

From the second season of the FIA Formula E Championship, Trulli wanted to use a vehicle with a self-designed drive called the Motomatica JT-01 . Liuzzi extended his contract, while Jarno Trulli ended his racing career and concentrated on his role as team boss. His place in the cockpit was taken by Salvador Durán , who played a large part of the preseason for the Amlin Aguri team . After the team had to skip the season opener because important parts of the drive were stuck at customs, they also had to skip the second race in Putrajaya because the vehicles did not pass the technical inspection. Shortly before the third race in Punta del Este , the team announced their withdrawal from the championship.
