The Beijing E-Prix is an automobile race of the FIA Formula E Championship in Beijing , People's Republic of China . It was held for the first time in 2014 . The Beijing ePrix 2014 was the first race of the FIA ​​Formula E Championship.

A temporary circuit on public roads in the Olympic Park was selected for the Beijing E-Prix .

For the first Beijing E-Prix on September 13, 2014, 75,000 spectators came to the Olympic Park around the track. Admission to the event site was free, only the seats in the stands on the start-finish straight were chargeable. 40 million people watched the race on television. Lucas di Grassi won the first race. He benefited from a collision between Nicolas Prost and Nick Heidfeld , who were involved in an accident on the last lap before the last corner.

Sébastien Buemi won the second race in 2015 ahead of di Grassi and Heidfeld.
