The Berlin E-Prix is an automobile race of the FIA Formula E Championship in Berlin , Germany . It was first held in 2015 . The Berlin ePrix 2015 was the eighth Formula E race and the first on an airfield course .

history

The first Berlin E-Prix was held on a specially built temporary race track on the apron of the former Berlin-Tempelhof airport . Lucas di Grassi dominated the first Berlin ePrix, but was subsequently disqualified, so that Jérôme D'Ambrosio won the race.

The second Berlin ePrix took place on a street circuit around Strausberger Platz . Sébastien Buemi won the race.

After residents protests, the 2017 race took place again on the apron of Tempelhof Airport, but with a different route. After the race in Brussels was canceled, two races were held as part of the event. Felix Rosenqvist won the first run and Buemi won the second. In 2018 the race took place here again. The winner was Daniel Abt , who also secured pole position and the fastest race lap, i.e. achieved a hat trick .

Lucas di Grassi won the 2019 event ahead of Buemi and Jean-Éric Vergne .
