The Mercedes-Benz EQ Formula E Team is a German motorsport team that will compete in the FIA Formula E championship from the 2019/20 season . It is located through the wholly owned subsidiary Mercedes-Benz Formula E Ltd. owned by Daimler AG .

In June 2017, Mercedes-Benz announced that a works team would be participating in the FIA ​​Formula E championship from the 2019/20 season. At the same time, the exit from the DTM was announced at the end of the 2018 season . The drive for the team is developed by Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains , the company that is also responsible for developing the Mercedes engines for the Formula 1 World Championship . The first test drive with the drive was carried out at the end of March 2019. Shortly beforehand, the team presented a teaser paint job for the vehicle at the Geneva Motor Show .

The races are taken over by HWA . In preparation, HWA competed in the 2018/19 season as an independent team under the name HWA Racelab with customer engines from Venturi .

In the 2019/20 season , the team will include drivers Nyck de Vries and Stoffel Vandoorne , team principal is Ian James . The racing car bears the designation Mercedes-Benz EQ Silver Arrow 01 .
