The Mexico City E-Prix is an automobile race of the FIA Formula E Championship in Mexico City , Mexico . It was first held in 2016 .
history
The Mexico City E-Prix is held on a shortened version of the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez . It was the first E-Prix to take place on a permanent race track.
Jérôme D'Ambrosio won the first race ahead of Sébastien Buemi and Nicolas Prost after the first-placed Lucas di Grassi had been disqualified. Di Grassi then won the second E-Prix ahead of Jean-Éric Vergne and Sam Bird .
Daniel Abt won the third race ahead of Oliver Turvey and Buemi. Grassi won the fourth E-Prix ahead of António Félix da Costa and Edoardo Mortara , making di Grassi the second time to win the Mexico City E-Prix.
The route was changed in 2020: the route turned to the left after the second curve, where it ran in the opposite direction of the Formula 1 route. After a hairpin , it then led back towards the Foro Sol . In addition, the chicane in the last corner has been removed. The length of the route increased to 2.606 km.
