Alex Brundle (born August 7, 1990 in King's Lynn ) is a British automobile racing driver . His father is the former Formula 1 driver Martin Brundle . He competed in the GP3 series in 2012 .

Career

Brundle began his motorsport career at the age of eight in karting . In 2006 he switched to the T-Cars series , in which racing drivers between the ages of 14 and 17 drove limousines , and finished eighth overall. At the end of the year he made his first experiences in formula racing in the autumn championship of the Formula Palmer Audiwhich he finished in 21st place. In 2007, Brundle started in the regular Formula Palmer Audi and finished eleventh overall. He then competed again in the autumn championship of the Formula Palmer Audi and improved to eighth place overall. In 2008 the Briton contested another season in the Formula Palmer Audi. With three podium finishes, he finished the season in sixth place overall.

In 2009 Brundle switched to the revived Formula 2 . The young racing driver could not keep up with the leading group in the new racing series and finished in fifth place as the best result and 19th overall. In 2010 the Briton moved to the British Formula 3 championship for the T-Sport racing team . He could only score points in 7 out of 30 races and finished the season in 17th place overall. In 2011 Brundle returned to Formula 2 and completed his second season in the championship. With a second place as the best result, he was eighth overall at the end of the season.

In 2012 , Brundle switched to Carlin in the GP3 series . With a third place as the best result, he finished 16th in the drivers' standings, while his team-mate António Félix da Costa came in third. He also takes part in a number of long-distance races for Greaves Motorsport in an LMP2 vehicle.
