Alpine A470 used by the Signatech Alpine Team

As of 2017, only vehicles from manufacturers certified by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest were permitted for the LMP2 class through a regulation . Oreca received such approval and is one of four manufacturers allowed to build vehicles for the LMP2 class.

The Oreca 07 is the direct further development of the Oreca 05, which was the basis for the 07. With an upgrade kit, customer teams can even convert the Oreca 05 into an Oreca 07.

Through a partnership with the French automobile manufacturer Alpine , the prototype is operated by Alpine under the name "Alpine A470" and with the Alpine branding. Two vehicles of the A470 entered the 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship for the Signatech Alpine Team for the first time .

The Acura ARX-05 in the Daytona Prototype International class is based on the Oreca 07 chassis.

technology

The monocoque of the Oreca 07 consists of fiber composite material , i.e. synthetic resin reinforced with carbon and aramid fibers . The vehicles have a closed cockpit, the rear wing is 1.80 meters wide. The standard motor prescribed by the LMP2 regulations, the Gibson GK428, is used. This is an eight-cylinder V-engine with 4.2 l displacement and 90 ° bank angle, which has an output of 450 kW (600 bhp) and a maximum torque of 555 Nm. The six-speed gearbox is supplied by Xtrac.
