Mark Olegowitsch Schulschizki [ ˈmark ɐˈlʲɛɡəvʲɪtɕ ʂʊlˈʐɨtskʲɪj ], also Mark Shulzhitskiy ( Russian Марк Оле́гович Шульжи́цкий ; born July 11, 1989 in Vladivostok ) is a Russian racing car driver .

Career

Schulschizki began his motorsport career in karting , which he practiced between the ages of eight and sixteen. He won several regional championships, but initially had no opportunity to start a professional racing career.

Schulschizki took part in the GT Academy in 2012 . In the elimination competition between Nissan and Sony , which starts with races on the PlayStation , Schulschizki won the Russian edition and prevailed against 32,500 participants. He became the first Russian driver to make his way into international motorsport through the GT Academy. As a result, Schulschizki took part in a driver development program run by Nissan and competed in the Dubai 24-hour race in 2013 . It was his first participation in an international race and he finished second in his class.

Then Schulschizki received a cockpit for the Blancpain Endurance Series 2013 with the Nissan GT Academy Team RJN for the entire season. He had changing teammates. With a podium finish he was 18th in the GT3 Pro-Am Cup . In addition, Schulschizki drove in some races of the FIA GT series in 2013 and achieved 12th place in the Pro-Am classification. Schulschizki also made his debut in 2013 for Greaves Motorsport in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and took part in a race.

In 2014 Schulschizki was without a fixed race commitment. For the Nissan GT Academy Team RJN he took part in two races of the Blancpain Endurance Series 2014 . Schulschizki was also used in long-distance sports. He made his debut for OAK Racing at the 2014 Le Mans 24-hour race . Schulschizki was involved as a test driver in the development of the Ligier JS P2 from Onroak Automotive . In the race he reached ninth place together with Alex Brundle and Jann Mardenborough . Due to his good performance in the 24-hour race of Le Mans, Nissan Schulschizki then arranged an LMP2 cockpit for the remaining three races of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS). Together with Luciano Bacheta he started for Greaves Motorsport. With fourth place as the best result, the two achieved 13th place in the LMP2 classification.

In 2015 Schulschizki was again without a permanent commitment. For the Nissan GT Academy Team RJN he took part in individual races in the Blancpain Endurance Series and the Blancpain Sprint Series . On the long haul he received a factory cockpit at Nissan Motorsports in the new LMP1 vehicle Nissan GT-R LM Nismo for the 24-hour race at Le Mans . In addition, Schulschizki took part in a total of two ELMS races in the LMP3 category for various teams.
