Marie Söderström-Lundberg

Marie Söderström-Lundberg (born Söderström ; born October 21, 1960 ) is a former Swedish long-distance runner who had her greatest successes in the marathon .

In 1998 she was third in the Stockholm Marathon . In 1999 she won the Seville and Stockholm marathons, finished 18th in the marathon of the World Athletics Championships in Seville and came second in the Frankfurt marathon .

The following year she was tenth in the Nagoya Marathon , defended her title in Stockholm and was ninth in the Chicago Marathon .

In 2001 she finished second in Stockholm and came 24th at the World Championships in Edmonton . Another second place in Stockholm in 2002 was followed by seventh place at the European Athletics Championships in Munich and 40th place at the World Half Marathon Championships in Brussels .

In 2003 she celebrated her third victory in Stockholm and came 26th at the World Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis .

In addition to four marathon titles, which she won through her results at the Stockholm Marathon 1999-2001 and 2003, she was twice Swedish champion over 5000 m (1999, 2000), four times over 10,000 m (1998-2001), five times in the half marathon ( 1998–2000, 2002, 2003) as well as in cross-country running once on the short distance (1999) and four times on the long distance (1999, 2001–2003).
