Gustavo Yacamán
Gustavo Yacamán Aristizabal (born February 25, 1991 in Santiago de Cali ) is a Colombian racing car driver . He drove in the Indy Lights from 2009 to 2012 .
Career
Yacamán began his motorsport career in karting in 2002 , where he was active until 2005. In 2006 he moved into the single-seater racing and was in Europe fourth in the Master Junior Formula . He also made his debut in the Spanish Formula 3 championship , in which he finished 16th overall. In 2007 Yacamán contested the entire season in Spanish Formula 3. He won a race and finished the season in eighth place overall. In 2008 he took part in the Spanish Formula 3 championship for various teams and once again won one race. In the overall standings, he was ninth.
In 2009 Yacamán left Europe and switched to the North American Indy Lights . For Sam Schmidt Motorsports , fourth place was his best result. At the end of the season he finished twelfth overall. In 2010 he played his second season in the Indy Lights for the new team Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing . With a third place as the best result, he finished the season in tenth place overall. In 2011 , Yacamán moved to Team Moore Racing within Indy Lights . He won his first Indy Lights race that year and improved to fourth place in the drivers' championship. He also completed his first test drive in the IndyCar Series for Andretti Autosport . In 2012 Yacamán completed another season in the Indy Lights for the Moore Racing team. He won two races and was on the podium five times. He finished the season in third place overall. In addition, Yacamán took part in endurance racing in the Daytona 24-hour race and finished third with Jorge Goncalvez , Michael McDowell and Felipe Nasr .
