Miki Monras

Miquel "Miki" Monrás Albanell (born January 17, 1992 in Barcelona ) is a Spanish racing car driver . He competed in Formula 2 in 2011 .

Career

Monrás began his motorsport career in karting in 2002 , in which he was active until 2007. Among other things, he was the Spanish and European Junior ICA kart champion in 2006 and runner-up in the European KF2 championship in 2007. He also made 2007 Junior in the master formula and winter series of the Italian Formula Renault his first experience in Formula racing . In 2008 he competed for Hitech Racing in the Western European Formula Renault, which he finished eighth, and in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup , in which he finished 21st overall. In 2009 the Spaniard switched to SG Formula and competed again in both championships. While he improved to fifth overall in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup, he was fourth in the Western European Formula Renault.

In 2010 Monrás was signed by MW Arden for the first season of the GP3 series . At the end of the season he finished tenth overall with a second place as the best result. In 2011 Monrás switched to the FIA Formula 2 Championship . With one win and three more podium finishes, Monras finished fourth in the championship.
