Kevin Giovesi

Kevin Giovesi (born November 8, 1993 in Rho ) is an Italian racing driver .

Career

Giovesi began his motorsport career in karting in 2005 , where he remained active until 2008. In 2009 he switched to formula racing . He immediately succeeded in winning the Lista junior formula . In 2010 Giovesi took part in the Italian Formula 3 championship . After an event at BVM-Target Racing , he switched to JD Motorsport . With a sixth place as the best result, he reached 15th place in the drivers' championship in his debut season. In 2011 Giovesi switched to Lucidi Motorsport within the Italian Formula 3 . He won two races and finished seventh in the championship. So he prevailed against his teammates Víctor Guerin and Eddie Cheever III , who were in the places behind him. In 2012 Giovesi first competed in the European F3 Open for DAV Racing . With a third place as the best result, he finished sixth in the drivers' championship. Since he started in an older vehicle model, Giovesi was also entitled to points in the Copa classification. He decided this for himself. He did not take part in the last event. In 2012 Giovesi also entered the Italian Formula 3 championship for the fourth of eight race weekends. Starting for Ghinzani Arco Motorsport , he won three races and also achieved sixth place overall in this series. Giovesi also took part in one event each of the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and the Northern European Formula Renault .

In 2013 Giovesi started in the GP2 series for Venezuela GP Lazarus . After the fourth race weekend, he lost his cockpit. In contrast to his teammate René Binder, he was without points. Giovesi switched to the Auto GP at Ghinzani Arco Motorsport . Already at the first race weekend he achieved third place. In his second participation, he was second in the main race. With a total of five podium finishes, he finished the season in sixth place. In 2014 Giovesi received a full-time cockpit in the Auto GP at Eurotech Engineering , which was renamed FMS Racing during the season . He won two races and was third three times. In the championship he finished fifth overall at the end of the season. He also made two guest starts in the Euroformula Open, the follow-up series to the European F3 Open, for DAV Racing. In November he returned to the GP2 series for the last race weekend of the 2014 season and started for Rapax as injury substitute for Adrian Quaife-Hobbs .
