Bernd Herndlhofer

Bernd Herndlhofer (born July 9, 1990 in Vienna ) is an Austrian racing driver .

Career

Herndlhofer began his motorsport career in 2003 in kart racing , in which he was active until 2005. In 2006 he moved into the single-seater racing and was seventh in the junior Formula Lista . He also joined the German Formula BMW in the middle of the season . In this championship he remained without points. In 2007, Herndlhofer improved to fourth place in the Formula Lista junior with a win. He also took part in the season finale of the German Formula BMW.

In 2008 Herndlhofer switched to the German Formula 3 Cup and competed for Franz Wöss Racing . With two eleventh places as the best results, he remained without points. As he competed in an older racing car model, he was also entitled to points in the trophy classification. He finished this ranking in second place. He was also runner-up in the Austrian Formula 3 championship . In 2009, Herndlhofer contested his second season in German Formula 3 and competed for various teams on six out of nine race weekends. A second place was his best result. He finished the championship in eighth place.

In 2010, Herndlhofer initially competed in GT racing. For the Rosberg team he took part in the first six of seven ADAC GT Masters race weekends and finished 19th in the championship. He also took part in six races of the FIA GT3 European Championship . He won a race and finished the championship in 19th place. He also completed five races in German Formula 3. With a sixth place as the best result, he was 16. In 2011 , Herndlhofer started the season again in German Formula 3. As in the previous year, he competed for Brandl Racing . After the first two race weekends, his involvement ended because he could no longer raise the necessary budget. At the end of the season he finished 14th overall.
