Helmut Simon (politician)
Helmut Simon (born July 31, 1939 in Gablonz ; † January 21, 2018 in Feldafing ) was a German politician ( SPD ).
Simon attended elementary schools in Tannroda and Kaufbeuren as well as the Staatliche Gymnasium Kaufbeuren. He studied dentistry in Erlangen and Würzburg and was a dentist from 1964 to 1991 and a research assistant from 1998 to 2002.
In 1965 Simon became a member of the SPD. He sat on the city council in Kaufbeuren from 1966 to 1998 and was sub-district chairman of the SPD from 1992 to 2003. In addition, he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament from July 3, 1991, when he succeeded, until the end of the 1998 electoral period and again from January 6 to October 5, 2003.
