Nicolas Armindo (born March 8, 1982 in Colmar ) is a French racing driver .

Career

Nicolas Armindo began his professional motorsport career in formula racing . There he drove from 2001 to 2003 in the French Formula Renault in which he achieved his best formula result in 2001 with third place in the championship. At the same time, he competed in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup in 2002 and 2003 and in the Formula 3 Euro Series in 2003 .

In 2004 he switched to the Porsche Carrera Cup , where he competed in the French and German one-make cup. He competed in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany from 2004 to 2012 and was able to celebrate his first championship title there in 2010 with the driver's title. Before that he was runner- up in 2005 and third in the drivers' championship in 2003 . He only entered the Carrera Cup France again in the 2014 season and reached seventh place in the overall standings.

From 2006 to 2008 and in 2010 and 2015 Armindo competed in the Porsche Supercup . There he achieved his best season result in the racing series in 2007 with ninth place.

Armindo drove in the ADAC GT Masters from 2009 to 2013 . In his first season in an Audi R8 LMS for the Rosberg team he achieved sixth place and at the same time his best championship ranking in the series.

With the Rosberg team, he and César Campaniço also competed in the FIA GT3 European Championship in 2009 and won third place in the championship. A year later he and Neel Jani drove a Ford GT from Matech Competition in the FIA GT1 World Championship and finished 33rd at the end of the season.

From 2011, Armindo started more and more endurance races and drove for the IMSA Performance Matmut team with a Porsche 997 GT3 RSR in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup and in the Le Mans Series and European Le Mans Series . In 2011 and 2012 he won the drivers' title in the European Le Mans Series with his driver colleagues Raymond Narac and Anthony Pons . After a year in the American Le Mans Series for NGT Motorsport , he drove again in 2014 for IMSA Performance Matmut, his last season in the European Le Mans Series.

From 2012 to 2015 he competed in the Blancpain Endurance Series . His best result of the season, 12th place, was achieved in 2014 with a BMW Z4 GT3 .

Together with Raymond Narac, he won the FFSA GT Championship in a Porsche 911 GT3 R in 2014 .

In 2016 Nicolas Armindo drove a Lamborghini Huracán LP620-2 in the Pro Am classification of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe and finished fourth at the end of the season.

In 2016 and 2017 he last competed in individual races of the V de V Challenge Endurance GT / Tourisme .

Armindo competed in various 24-hour races in his career. It started in Le Mans in 2011 , 2012 and 2014 . He achieved his best placement in 2012 together with Raymond Narac and Anthony Pons with second place in the GTE AM ranking.

As part of the Grand American Rolex Series , he competed in the GT class at the Daytona 24-hour race from 2011 to 2013 . There he achieved his best overall result in this race in 2013 with 13th place.
