Christiaan Frankenhout

Christiaan Frankenhout (born January 13, 1982 in Westzaan ) is a Dutch automobile racing driver.

Career

Frankenhout started his motorsport career in 2000 in the Dutch Citroen Saxo Cup and in the following years gained experience in the Union Toyota Yaris Cup, ID&T Clio Renault Sport Cup and other racing series. In 2004 he won the title in the Dutch Seat Cupra Cup.

He then moved to the Toyota Yaris Cup for two years , where he drove for the Kormelink team. There he was runner-up behind Philip Geipel in 2005 and was able to take the title in 2006 with ten wins in 14 races.

At the same time, he started in the Benelux Racing League (BRL V6) from 2006 and achieved his best position there in 2007 with a Ford Mondeo BRL V6 with sixth place. In 2009 and 2010 he drove successfully with a Renault Clio RS III in the Clio Cup and with a Porsche 997 GT4 in the HTC Dutch GT4 series.

From 2010 to 2012 he competed in the ADAC GT Masters racing series. There he drove an Audi R8 LMS for the Rosberg team in his first season and then a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 for Heico Motorsport . His best result in the series was ninth place in the overall season ranking in 2009.

In 2011 and 2012 he competed in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring with the Heico team in the SP9 GT class. He finished the race in 2011 with a fifth and the following year with a third place.
