Sascha Maassen (born September 28, 1969 in Aachen ) is a German racing driver .

Career

He started his racing career in kart racing in 1988 . This year he competed in the international German kart championship. In the two following years he started in the Formula Ford 1600 and in 1990 came second overall in the German and European championships. In the following years he drove in German Formula 3 , in which he finished third in 1992 and 1993 and fourth overall in 1994. Also in 1994 he won the prestigious Macau Grand Prix . From 1995 to 1997 Maassen competed in the German Super Touring Car Cup with a Nissan . In 1996 he drove two races in the British Formula 3000 and was able to win one of them. He has been a Porsche works driver since 1998 and competes in sports car races.
