Motorsport history

The team took part in international motorsport from 1992 and initially competed in the Porsche Supercup . The first participation in the Le Mans 24-hour race followed in 1995 . The first major international victory came in 1998 when the company won the LMGT2 class at the Petit Le Mans in a Porsche 993 GT2 . In the same year the team entered the FIA GT Championship . In 1999, Freisinger Motorsport took third place in the team classification, making it the best Porsche team. In 2000 the first race victory in the FIA GT championship followed at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz .

From 2001 the Porsche 996 GT3-RS was used, which replaced the Porsche 993 GT2, which is now only competitive to a limited extent in its class. Now the team competed in the smaller N-GT class . In the 2002 season, the company achieved a total of seven class wins in the FIA GT Championship. In 2003 the team championship in the N-GT class went to Freisinger Motorsport again. This season, the team with its drivers Stéphane Ortelli , Marc Lieb and Romain Dumas also achieved a historic success in the Spa-Francorchamps 24-hour race , when a vehicle in the N-GT class was able to clinch overall victory for the first time.

The company then used three vehicles in the 2004 season. The team won a total of nine of the eleven championship races in the N-GT class. The team ranking could be won with a clear lead over the competition. In the 24-hour race of Spa-Francorchamps, the three vehicles used took the first three places in the N-GT class. The first of the three Freising Porsches was third in the overall standings at the end of the race. In the 2004 season, Freisinger Motorsport also took part in the Le Mans Series , in which the team achieved two class wins and was only barely beaten in third place in the team standings in the GT class.

After the 2004 season, Freisinger Motorsport had to withdraw from motorsport because the main sponsor Yukos became insolvent as a result of the "Yukos Affair". Since then, the company has concentrated on tuning and restoring Porsche vehicles.
