David Murry
David Murry (born January 29, 1957 in Cartersville ) is a former American car racing driver and racing team owner.
Racing career
David Murry's driving career began in Formula Ford in 1981 . He became known as a sports car racing driver . He had his first assignments at the end of 1986 in the IMSA GTP series , with first successes in the 1990s. In 1995 he finished fourth overall at the Daytona 24 Hours and in 1998 he joined Joest Racing for the Le Mans 24 Hours . Together with James Weaver and Pierre-Henri Raphanel , he drove the Porsche LMP1 , which broke down after an engine failure. Murry competed four times at Le Mans; his best placement in the final ranking was 17th in 2000 .
David Murry has competed in more than 250 sports car races. He celebrated one overall and eight class wins. In recent years he has competed in the American Le Mans Series and the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge .
