Shawn Hendricks

Shawn Hendricks (born August 18, 1964 in Simpsonville ) is a former American racing driver .

Racing career

Shawn Hendricks was active in US sports car racing in the 1980s and 1990s . He celebrated his greatest successes in the IMSA Supercar Championship . After a second place overall in 1994 behind David Donohue , he won the overall championship standings in 1995 with a clear lead over Shane Lewis . In total, he achieved nine race wins and eight second places in this series.

Hendricks competed once each in the Le Mans 24-hour race and the Sebring 12-hour race . In 1995 in Sebring he drove a Porsche 968 together with Lloyd Hawkins and David Murry in 18th place overall. At Le Mans in 1996, as partner of Price Cobb and Mark Dismore, he finished tenth overall in the Chrysler Viper GTS-R .
