Seth Neiman (born June 27, 1954 in East Liverpool ) is an American racing car driver , racing team owner and entrepreneur.
Entrepreneur
Born in East Liverpool, Seth Neumann grew up in Dayton and studied philosophy and computer science at Ohio State University in Columbus . In the 1980s he worked as a system architect for a software company in Marin County and rose to vice-president of Sun Microsystems after working for other companies .
Since 1994, Neiman has ventured into a variety of computer companies, making sizable personal fortunes. Among other things, he founded Brocade Communications Systems and has been CEO of Facial recognition system , a company that deals with application software for personal data collection, since 2013 .
Flying Lizard Motorsports
Seth Neiman had already been an active driver for two years in 2003 when he founded his own racing team with Flying Lizard Motorsports . The team entered the American Le Mans Series in 2004 and has since been active in US sports car racing and in Europe at the 24 Hours of Le Mans .
Racing career
As a driver, Neiman began his career two years earlier in the Barber Dodge Pro Series . He got into GT racing in 2003 with his own racing team . By the end of his last complete racing season in 2014, he had entered 140 races and celebrated two class wins. He competed nine times in Le Mans and in 2005 he finished third in the GT2 class. His best placings in the Sebring 12-hour race were eleventh in the 2009 and 2010 final standings . At 24 Hours of Daytona , he was in 2010 ninth overall.
