Brocade Communications Systems is an American manufacturer of network components such as switches , routers and related software. On November 2, 2016, Broadcom announced it would take over Brocade. This acquisition was completed in 2017. Parts of the company should be resold directly.

Brocade was founded in 1995 by Seth Neiman, Paul Bonderson and Kumar Malavalli.

In 2012, Brocade took over the developer of the Vyatta Open firmware router .
