The 2009 DTM season was the tenth season of the DTM . The first run took place on May 17th, 2009 at the Hockenheimring . This race was also the 100th race since the DTM was reissued in 2000. The season finale also took place on October 25th at the Hockenheimring.

A total of 10 races were held in Germany , the Netherlands , Great Britain , Spain and France .

Timo Scheider was the overall winner in the Audi A4 DTM with 64 points. After 2008 he secured his second DTM championship title and was able to defend his title as the second DTM driver after Bernd Schneider .
