The BMW M3 driven by Eric van de Poele in the DTM.

The German Touring Car Championship 1987 was the fourth season of the DTM . The first run took place on March 29, 1987 for the first time at the Hockenheimring . The last run was on August 23rd on the Salzburgring . A total of ten races were held in Germany , Belgium and, for the first time, also in Austria .

The overall winner was the Belgian Eric van de Poele in a BMW M3 with 127 points.
