Robert Walterscheid-Müller (born March 8, 1962 in Troisdorf ) is a former German automobile racing driver .
Career
Robert Walterscheid-Müller drove in the German Touring Car Championship (DTM) from 1984 to 1987 . There he initially drove an Opel Manta GTE and from the end of the 1984 season a BMW 635 CSi . In 1987 he started with a BMW M3 . He achieved his best result in the DTM in 1984 when he finished sixth in Zolder.
From 1985 he started for the Auto Budde Team in the European Touring Car Championship with a BMW 635 CSi in the 3rd division. A year later he drove a BMW 325i in the 2nd and 3rd divisions. In 1987 Walterscheid-Müller switched to a BMW M3, which he used until his last race in the racing series in 1988. In the 1985 European Touring Car Championship he achieved his best result in the racing series when he finished fifth in the overall standings together with Jürgen Hamelmann and Axel Felder at the Spa-Francorchamps 24-hour race.
From 1991 to 1993 he drove a Ford Sierra Cosworth 4x4 and a BMW M3 E36 in the 2.5-liter class of the German Touring Car Trophy (DTT). There he was able to line up regularly among the top five placements. He achieved his best result in 1991 with third place in the super sprint race at the Nürburgring.
Walterscheid-Müller competed in endurance races several times during his racing career . In the German Endurance Championship he was able to achieve nine group wins and one class victory. His greatest success was overall victory in 1985 in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring with Jürgen Hamelmann and Axel Felder in a BMW 635 CSi.
In 1994 he ended his motorsport career.
