Andreas "Andy" Bovensiepen (born August 24, 1962 ) is a former German automobile racing driver and entrepreneur.

Career

Bovensiepen began his career in 1986 in Formula Ford and drove in the European Formula Ford 2000 and in the German Formula Ford 2000, in which he finished third. He also drove in German Formula 3 in 1986 and finished 23rd in the overall standings.

In 1987 he drove in the World Touring Car Championship, the European Touring Car Championship and the German Touring Car Championship in a BMW entered by Team Alpina and finished 17th in the DTM overall standings. In 1988 he drove again in the European Touring Car Championship and again in German Formula 3, in which he finished 24th overall. He also drove in the Porsche 944 Turbo Cup and finished 6th at the end of the season. In 1989 he remained loyal to this series and improved to 3rd place overall.

He also competed in the 24 Hours of Spa and finished 7th in the Lotto Trophy. In 1990 he competed in the newly founded Porsche Carrera Cup Germany and finished 9th at the end of the season. In 1991 he stayed in this series and improved to 8th overall. In 1995 (60th place) and 1996 he drove in the BPR Global GT Series. In 1999 he drove in the Belgian Procar series and finished 39th at the end of the season. In 2002 he took part in the 24 hours at the Nürburgring and won the A6 class.

Bovensiepen is one of the managing directors of Alpina Burkard Bovensiepen , which was founded by his father. He is responsible for sales, development and racing.
