Season course

Special events - Nürburgring

Qualifying training was initially interrupted in Q2 due to heavy rain after an accident by Mike Rockenfeller , then canceled. Q3 was not started. According to the regulations, the times from Q1 were counted for the starting grid.

In the race itself there was a mistake by the Audi management team: As rain was forecast for the race, Audi put rain tires on almost all drivers except Christijan Albers , Katherine Legge and Oliver Jarvis . But the predicted rain did not materialize. Timo Scheider , Mattias Ekström and Markus Winkelhock came after the formation lap to the box , the other driver followed after the first lap. Due to the additional pit stop, which could not be counted as a mandatory pit stop, the Audi fell behind in the field, so that Mercedes-Benz temporarily led the field with seven cars. Due to Audi's wrong decision, Bernd Schneider won his first race of the season ahead of teammates Paul di Resta and Jamie Green . The best Audi driver was Timo Scheider in 5th place.
