Lazar Constantin "Lucky" Cojocar (born May 19, 1970 ) is a former Romanian handball player and current coach . As a player, he was two Romanian champions with Steaua Bucharest , one cup winner and twice reached the semi-finals of the EHF Cup . For the Romanian national team , he completed five international matches.

Athletic career

The qualified sports teacher started his coaching career in Germany at SG Anspach. He then trained the regional league team HSG Kleenheim. From October 2007 he was the successor to Peter Dávid as coach of the women's Bundesliga club HSG Sulzbach / Leidersbach . From 2008 to 2010 Cojocar coached the women's team of the second division HSG Bensheim / Auerbach . After the championship in the 2nd Bundesliga (South), his team missed promotion in the decisive home game of the final in the relegation round. The contract, which was only extended by two years in January 2010, was terminated at the end of May 2010 without giving reasons. As part of the hearing of the case before the Darmstadt labor court , the Auerbacher Handball Sport & Marketing GmbH announced the reasons for the dismissal of Cojocar. So there should be "over a longer period of time and in several cases again and again situations in which the coach did not maintain the boundary between the trainer and the athlete". In the summer of 2011, Cojocar took over the HSG Kleenheim women's team, which was then in the 3rd division. In 2016, Kleenheim was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga under his leadership. After relegation at the end of the season and 9th place, the HSG Kleenheim withdrew their team from the 2. Bundesliga women. This also ended the coaching activity there. Since January 2018 he has been training the third division club SV Germania Fritzlar.
