German Touring Car Championship 1992

The Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evo II, with which Klaus Ludwig won the DTM championship in 1992.

The 1992 German Touring Car Championship was the ninth season of the DTM . The first run took place on April 4, 1992 at the Circuit Zolder, the last run of the season on October 11 at the Hockenheimring .

A total of 24 races were held in Germany , the Czech Republic and Belgium . Two runs were carried out on each of the 12 race weekends.

Overall winner was Klaus Ludwig in the Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evo II with 228 points. For Ludwig it was the second DTM title win after 1988 and for Mercedes the first title in the DTM.

Opel decided not to take part in the season and Audi got out of the DTM early during the current season.
