Fritz Kreutzpointner III. (* September 14, 1967 in Burghausen ), also known internationally under the alias "Fritz K." , is a former German racing driver and today's entrepreneur .

Racing career

After attending the Walter Lechner Racing School, Kreutzpointner made a stop in Formula Ford between 1986 and 1989 , where he finished second in the Austrian state championship. As a reaction to the performances in this series, he was appointed to the Mercedes-Benz junior team alongside drivers such as Michael Schumacher and Heinz-Harald Frentzen . In 1990 he then started for the AMG works team in the German Touring Car Championship . With his racing car, an AMG Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evo I , he achieved second place as the best place in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring - his best result in the DTM. After average placings in the 1991 season , he left Mercedes-Benz and started his final DTM season in 1992 with the MM Diebels team from BMW . In 1999 and 2001 Kreutzpointner was European champion in truck racing for MAN ; he has competed there since 1994, but his first year for Mercedes. In 2000 he took a year off, in 2001 he was able to secure the title in the Super Race class even before the last race ahead of Markus Bösiger and Antonio Albacete . His biggest mistake, however, was in the qualifying race in Misano : on the last lap he lost speed because he thought the race was over and only finished fourth. However, he won the cup race.

In 2002, the Upper Bavarian did not continue his career after MAN left the factory.
