Per-Gunnar "Peggen" Andersson (born August 15, 1957 in Falkenberg , Sweden ) is a Swedish racing driver .

Career

In 1980 and 1981 Andersson took part in eight races of the Swedish Vredestein Cup with a Volvo 142 . In 1981 he won a race there and was runner-up. He remained loyal to Volvo in 1982 and 1983, but this time in a Volvo 240 Turbo , used by the Swedish racing team ML Racing . In addition to some races in the Volvo 240 Turbo Cup, he also competed in the European Touring Car Championship .

In 1984 Andresson drove three races for ML Racing in the newly founded German Touring Car Championship and in his very first race drove in second place and the fastest race lap . As a guest starter, however, he was not entitled to points. The next year he drove a full season in the DTM and finished seventh in the overall standings with a race win in Erding . In 1986 he continued to drive in the DTM, still in a Volvo 240 Turbo, but changed teams and from then on started for IPS Motorsport . After a second and first place in the first two races, he was unable to set any further highlights and ended the year in eighth place in the classification.

Between 1987 and 2000 Andresson drove mainly in the Swedish Touring Car Championship and won it four times.

To this day Andersson is active in various national racing series.
