1985 German Production Car Championship

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Volvo 240 Turbo driven by Per Stureson in the DTM.

The 1985 German Production Car Championship was the second season of the German Production Car Championship (DPM). The first run took place on March 24, 1985 on the Belgian Circuit Zolder . The last run was on September 22nd at the Nürburgring . A total of 11 races were held in Germany and Belgium .

In contrast to 1984, the championship was advertised internationally, so that not only German drivers were entitled to points.

The overall winner was the Swede Per Stureson in the Volvo 240 Turbo with 117.5 points.

The German Production Car Championship was ended at the end of the 1985 season and renamed the German Touring Car Championship (DTM) at the beginning of 1986 . The two DPM championships in 1984 and 1985 are therefore officially part of the DTM.
