Ralt
Ralt was a manufacturer of monoposto racing cars for formula racing . The company was founded in 1974 by Ron Tauranac , the former co-owner of the Brabham team. The name Ralt is made up of the initials of the company's founder and his brother ( R on and A ustin L ewis T auranac).
Ron Tauranac had made a name for himself in racing as a designer of safe and reliable vehicles with high quality standards. The first Ralt cars drove from 1975 to 1979 in Formula 2 , Formula 3 and Formula Atlantic . Formula 3 cars based on the RT3 were in use until the 1990s, the Formula Atlantic cars were not replaced by Swift until 1998 . A Formula 1 project on behalf of Theodore Racing for the 1978 season ended unsuccessfully after multiple failures in qualifying. From 1980 to 1984 Ralt was a partner of Honda's works outings in Formula 2. Plans for entering the Indycar series in 1985 were not realized. From 1985 to 1988 Ralt was represented in Formula 3000 with engines from Cosworth and Judd . In October 1988 Ralt was bought by March .
