On January 15, 2010, the Olympique Lyon team was disqualified by UEFA for playing two unqualified players. The second leg, which Lyon won 5-0, was rated 3-0 for Fortuna Hjørring. This would have made the Danes into the quarter-finals. Olympique Lyon then appealed to the International Court of Sports , which was upheld on February 25, 2010. According to the FIFA rules , Lyon should not have signed or deployed the players concerned Christine Nielsen and Isabell Herlovsen . Lyon justified the complaint by stating that FIFA regulations only apply to professionals, but that the French league is an amateur league.

Quarter finals

The draw took place on November 20, 2009 in Nyon. The first legs were played on March 10, the second legs on March 14 and 17, 2010.
