Røa Idrettslag (short: Røa IL) is a football club from Oslo ( Norway ). The first women's football team plays in the highest Norwegian league Toppserien .
history
Røa IL was founded on November 11, 1900. The women's soccer team was founded in 1993 and rose to the top series in 2000. The team quickly established itself in the Norwegian House of Lords and in 2004 celebrated twice. First, they were one point ahead of Trondheims-Ørn SK champions. Then they beat Asker SK 2-1 in the cup final . For the UEFA Women's Cup they beat United Pietasaari from Finland and Pärnu JK from Estonia . The group win was missed by a defeat against Valur Reykjavík from Iceland . Two years later, Røa won the cup final for the second time. Again the opponent was Asker SK. This time Røa won 3-2. In 2007 the club won its second championship. In the cup final, however, they lost to Kolbotn IL . In 2010 the “Dynamite Girls” won the trophy for the third time, in the final they clearly prevailed 7-0 against Trondheims-Ørn SK. In the league they finished 2nd behind Stabæk Fotboll in the same year .
The club plays its home games at the "Røabanen" stadium. The stadium has an artificial turf pitch . The club colors are red and yellow.
