Rosenborg Trondheim is a Norwegian football club from Trondheim . The women's football department was created in February 2020 when the Trondheims-Ørn SK club joined . The first team plays in the first-class top series .

history

The Trondheims-Ørn SK association was founded on May 18, 1917. There has been a women's soccer department since 1972. In the eighties they reached the cup final several times, but lost each time. It wasn't until the nineties that the company began to achieve success. In 1993 they won the Norwegian Cup for the first time, a year later they won their first championship title. Between 1994 and 1997 they won the championship four times in a row. A similar series was achieved in the cup competition between 1996 and 1999.

In total, the club won seven championship titles and eight cup victories. Alongside Kolbotn IL , Trondheims-Ørn is one of the most successful clubs in Norwegian women's football. The club has taken part twice in the UEFA Women's Cup . In 2002 they failed in the quarterfinals at HJK Helsinki . Three years later they were eliminated in the semifinals against the eventual winner 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam .
